David M. McNevin graduated from the University of Windsor with a B.A. in 1992 and an LL.B. in 1995. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 1997 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association and the Essex County Law Association.
Areas of Practice
David practices chiefly in the area of commercial litigation including shareholder oppression actions, debt collection, insolvency litigation, tax litigation, commercial tenancy disputes and a variety of other business disputes. David also practices in the area of employment law, both in the non-union and unionized sectors. He has appeared in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Tax Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and before a variety of other tribunals and administrative bodies.
Other
David has made a number of public appearances as a guest speaker on issues including employment and labour law, Canadian insolvency law and civil procedure. He has lectured at the University of Windsor and attended as a speaker at various seminars in Ontario and Michigan. He has appeared on several cases that have become reported decisions.
David is a past president of the Windsor Arts Council and was previously involved with alumni affairs at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, including serving as editor in 1997/98 of the annual law school alumni magazine.
He is currently a sessional professor at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law teaching civil procedure and has previously taught a portion of the civil procedure section of the Bar Admission Course for the Law Society of Upper Canada.
