Biography
James H. Cooke graduated on the Dean’s Honour Roll from the University of Windsor Law School in 1984. He articled at Fasken Martineau in 1984 to 1985 and was called to the Bar in 1986. Mr. Cooke received his LL.M. from the University of Toronto in 1990. He has practiced litigation since1986 in Toronto and then in Windsor. In 2005 he was appointed University Counsel at the University of Windsor and has recently joined the firm of Ducharme Fox, LLP. Mr. Cooke practices in the areas of civil, employment and commercial litigation including insolvency. Mr. Cooke provides cross-border litigation services to U.S. law firms and clients.
Mr. Cooke regularly provides advice and services on a wide range of business-related matters. He has acted for clients in restructuring, security enforcement, wrongful dismissals, shareholder disputes and contractual matters.
Mr. Cooke remains active at the University of Windsor Law School, coaching the Arnup Cup moot trial team to a provincial championship in 2009.
